Tejuino is an immensely popular drink in Jalisco, as well as the rest of Mexico. It is a beverage best served cold made from piloncillo (cone shaped brown sugar), water, and fermented corn dough, the same kind of dough used to make tortillas and tamales.
It is normally served with lime, a pinch of salt, some alcohol, and shaved ice.
You will usually find a vendor selling these drinks at street corners in Mexican towns and they're sold either in a plastic cup or in a plastic bag with a straw sticking out.
