Mariachi is one of Mexico's most well known type of music and the uniform worn by mariachis is iconic. There are many different types of marichi, and even more ways to dance it. One of the most popular forms of dancing to mariachi is zapateado, which is similar to tap dancing only the tapping is done in synchronization of the song being played.

El Jarabe Tapatio.
El Jarabe, better known as the Mexican Hat Dance, is the most well-known type of Mexican folk dance. It is usually danced to mariachi music and, as the name implies, sometimes danced around a sombrero, a large Mexican hat (seen at the top of the page), which is on the floor.
